WAY TO FAST

Time really does fly when you have kids. Well... it did before I had kids too, but to see such a drastic change of how much Josiah and Jocelyn have grown in the last 2 years, blows my mind. I try my best to constantly take photos and write down all the little stories of our day to day lives, looking back though I wish I would have done more. As a parent I really encourage everyone to take time to capture these tiny moments in life, cause you never get them back and they are gone in a flash. Seriously. Jocelyn is just about to turn two and Josiah has already learned to lie about his age (he tells everyone he's 5, so he can be old enough to go to school)

One of my favorite things: Peeking at them when they play together. I love to peek around corners or hide behind something and just watch/listen to them playing. I'm sure the fighting will be here and there, as it is now, but they love each other so much. They usually are trying to make each other laugh in some way. They dance together, sing together, ride bikes together, even save each other from the lava at the bottom of the slide. It truly warms my heart and makes me feel like a child again with them.

Yesterday, I didn't have my camera on me and I didn't want to miss the moment while I went looking for it but, they were outside playing together sitting on this "Sit-n-Spin" thing and grabbing each others cheeks and making funny faces on each other. Even through the closed door I could hear them belly laughing. They really are best friends. I hope as their relationship grows they will just become closer and closer.

Mommy's Little Hipsters

Josiah and Jocelyn are already so used to me taking there pictures all the time, that now they actually will come get me during their playtime if something is photo worthy. This is one of those times, Josiah came running to me yelling "Mom, get your camera, we need to take a picture of Joce!" After she had her turn (which she was THAT interested in) Josiah begged for me to take some of him too. So of course he gave me what he got. lol I was LOVING it! I don't know where he got the idea of doing that with his eyes... I'm sure it has nothing to do with him hearing me tell people "look up that way.... now look over here... wait stop look back there" haha Anyways these kids are a hoot and I love them to pieces.

:Enjoy:

My Kind of Salsa: Chili's Copycat

SUPER DUPER EASY! You have gotta try it.

Chili's Copycat Salsa Recipe:
(Recipe from Deals to Meals)

2 cans (14.5 oz each) whole tomatoes, drained
1 small (4 oz) can diced or whole jalapenos (not pickled)--about 4-5 jalapenos (or less if you don't like a lot of spice)
1/4 c. yellow onion, cut into quarters (you can also use dried minced onion)
1 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 to 1 tsp. salt (depending on how much you prefer)
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. lime juice

Place all of the ingredients together into a food processor or blender and puree until smooth. Serve with tortilla chips.

I used closer to a 1/3 cup of onion and added some extra cumin :)
And served with THIN tortilla chips. Perfection!

Potty time

This morning while watching Dora, Jocelyn comes up to me and grabs my finger and tries to pull me of the couch. She was telling me something that sounded like ”get up mom, help me, Eeee” So I got up and followed her to the bathroom. Where she was trying to pulling her pants off ”Eeee”  she said again. ”Oh you have to pee” So I got her on the toilet and nothing, she sat there for a little bit, but it looked and felt like she had already gone in her diaper. A little bit later while watching TV again, she tells me again pulling on her pants. Once again I followed her to the restroom and set her on her potty. This time she went!!! She was so exited she got up and did a little dance. It was so cute. I don't know how fast she will actually potty train, but she is interested and growing so fast. I'm sure she'll be out of diapers before I know it.

Through Josiah's Eyes

Josiah loves to steal my phone and go around taking photos.  Anything to get his creativity going is fine with me. He has yet to break my phone, even if he does I can just buy a new one. Maybe one day he will be an amazing photographer. ♥

Baby for my baby

Been working on a baby doll for my baby doll. She is coming along slowly but surely. Jocelyn already loves her, she actual loved her since she was just a head with one ear and eyes. The last couple days that I have been working on her Jocelyn will come steal the her and put her in her stroller and push her around. Jocelyn gets aggravated cause her doll doesn't sit up on her own very well. And occasionally Josiah likes to be a punk and steal her doll and ride off on his tricycle, while Jocelyn chases him, screaming for her baby back.... (ribs :-P)

Conversations:

Josiah has ALWAYS been a bit of a scaredy cat, but recently he has been slowing been getting out of it. Before anytime he saw a bug across the room he would freak out and cry. I've been trying to explain the world to him, but he has such a powerful imagination that he thinks everything is going to hurt him. Last week we were checking out rollie pollies and i was showing him not all bugs are bad or scary. But then he would NOT touch it or let it touch him. He was to scared.

Letter From Daddy:

My son Josiah LOOOOOOVES baseball, To the point where he wants to sleep with his ball and glove. Every chance he gets he wants to play. It reminds me alot of myself when i was young. I ate, slept and (for lack of a better word. )”shit” baseball. It was my life and it was all i cared about. I am starting to see that in my son. I mean don’t get me wrong, he likes alot of stuff, just like your typical 3 year old. But when it comes to baseball i can see that he enjoys it very much.
Josiah has always had a special place in my heart, from the moment i saw him take his first breath, and every night when i tuck him into bed, My heart and soul are filled with Love, Joy and peace. As he gets older i find myself falling more and more in love with him. To the point where im overwhelmed and my face pours with tears of Joy it makes all the problems in my life just disappear. I enjoy sitting and listening to him tell me about his day and listen to him use his imagination to stretch what actually happen. In this moment i cant help but think about my Dad………He passed away when i was 10 months old i was raised without a father, so this whole father thing is VERRRRRRRRY new to me but now…more than ever i feel my fathers love, I now finally know what it is like to have a father. I imagine that the love i feel for my son is the same love that i feel for my son and its beautiful to me to know that 25 years after my father is gone he still loves me…. That is the true definition of LOVE…. If there is 1 thing that i want my son to know about me. Its that I love him with everything that i have…..
The point is this… Find something in your life that you love. Find something that you believe in and pursue it with everything that you have. within a blink of an eye it can be gone… Cherish those special moments that you have with your loved ones. Family is everything. And in the end look back and smile at all the good times you had. Live with no regrets never apologize. And dont take anything for granted.

Letter From Daddy:

:) My baby girl.. Words can not begin to describe my love for my little girl.. She is my everything and she is 1 1/2 yrs old and she has me completely wrapped around her finger. AS SOOON as i get home from work, she is always there to greet me !! “HIIIII DADDY!! COME HERE” she drags me over to an empty area in the room and wants me to watch her dance! Dancing is something she loves to do whenever she hears a funky tune that strikes a nerve you can find her boppin’ her head or moving her arms..
I constantly think and anxiously await driving her to dance class,or taking her to a daddy daughter dance. I have never in my life experienced anything like this, and i am eternally grateful that i get to share this with my Jocelyn. I have been making slow progress but have yet to make a successful pony tail. And when i Paint her nails i make a mess but i wouldn’t change any of it for a second! there is no where else that i would rather be than spending time with my daughter!
My Baby girl, I love you and you hold another special place in my heart always!
Love…Daddy :)

From Chris:

Chris sent me this song today, said it was just for me. ♥ He's such a sweetheart sometimes :) Thanks, Honey, for being my best friend. Love you. ♥

Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore
I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are.

I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you.

I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are.

My Silly Boy

I always seem to have Josiah stories, but the thing is Jocelyn take 3 hour naps during the day and because of that Josiah has time to shine. He always acts a bit more silly when it's just me and him. I do need to make it a point to keep up with Jocelyn a bit more. Cause she really is stinkin' funny too.

Anyways Josiah likes to dance, it's mainly just crazy foot work, either way, it makes me laugh.

Oh Josiah

Josiah is getting into this I don't care kind of attitude and I'm a bit unsure how to handle things. I told him "If you don't pick up these toy off the floor I'm going to throw them all away" Fine, he says, throw them away. So I got I huge black trash bag and loaded up all the toys that were left out on the floor, in the process of me doing this, he is sitting his bed watching me. Totally NOT caring. So I throw one last chance at him, "Please help me pick up your toys" "Just throw them away" In frustration I respond with, "Fine I'm going to call Santa and tell him not to bring you toys anymore, cause you just want to throw them away instead of take care of them." Ok fine", he says as he gets down from his bed and walks out of the room. A minute or so later he comes back with my phone, "Call Santa, tell him I don't want any more toys" All I can do is sigh, and sit there staring at my phone. This kid is TOTALLY calling my bluff. I ended up making a "quick call to Santa" and then hauled his toys off to the garage, out of sight. It's been like 2 weeks now and he has only asked for them once.

He also has been getting a lot more brave and snappy with the way he's been speaking to me. I try my best to be stern when necessary, but my kids do NOT take me seriously at all. Sometimes is hard, but other times its just what we need to lighten the moment. Typically whats happens is, either I'm yelling at them and they just laugh or they are yelling at me and I just laugh. Either way they tend to cute their way out of things even when they aren't trying.

Art Time

Josiah and Jocelyn both LOVE to color. And I much rather them sit and color me pictures all day rather than watch tv. On rainy or cold days, when we are stuck inside, it is definitely their favorite pass time. And my favorite thing is to sit and watch and of course capture the moments. :) I especially love their faces of concentration and the tongue sticking out.
